A tribute to West Bengal Former Chief Minister and legendary Physician Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy on July 1 saluting his commitment as National Doctors Day

Today July 1, 2017 is being celebrated as  National Doctor’s Day, but why July 1 is observed as Doctor’s Day in India?

The Doctor’s Day in India is celebrated in the memory of the most famous Physician and Former Chief Minister of West Bengal Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy.

Marking his birth and death anniversary 1st July is observed as National Doctors Day.

Doctors Day means it a whole day dedicated for their roles and efforts took so far. The main aim top celebrate Doctor’s Day is to bring awareness to public about the roles, importance and precious care taken by doctors.

The annual day is celebrated as day of respect for entire doctors who have taken a great effort to save patient lives.

Doctor’s day is celebrated on different dates all around the world annually. In Cuba it is celebrated on December 3rd and in Iran it is on August 23 likewise it differs all across the world.

The Doctors day is symbolized in red carnation since colour denotes love, sacrifice, courage, charity which all is related to medical profession.
