Income Tax Department to dig out ten years old records of 'Benami Properties' from Sub-Registrar Offices of Financial capital Mumbai

Income Tax Department is planning to dig out ten years old records of Benami properties.

According to the latest reports, Income Tax Department has demanded ten years old record of properties from Sub-Registrar Officers of India’s financial capital Mumbai.

Over 45 thousand to 50 thousand properties are registered per year in total 25 Registrar Offices located in Mumbai.

Income Tax Department has come into probe to know whether these properties are Benami properties this is so because people mostly use black money in buying properties.

After getting information the Income Tax Department will investigate whether the property buyer is the real owner of the property or not.

Moreover the Income Tax Department may also investigate the owner over doubt.
