Monsoon Session: Lok Sabha passes Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT) Bill for allowing BTech MTech degrees

The Lok Sabha during the Monsoon Session passes the Bill that will allow them to grant degrees.

The 15 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) established through public-private partnerships, have been declared institutions of national importance.

Union Minister for Human Resources Develoment, Prakash Javadekar clarified that the fees for the poor students will not be increased and that reservation law will be applicable to these institutes.

Prakash Javadekar pronounced in his reply to the debate over the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (Public-Private Partnership) Bill 2017, that Education is not an issue for party politics. It is an issue of national policy.
